According to the 1974 Haiti adoption laws, you must meet the following guidelines
to qualify for a Haiti adoption. (Waivers can be granted to some of these requirements, if you don't meet the requirements,
please contact us to discuss your options.)
• Be U.S. Citizens residing in the U.S. (at least one spouse must be a U.S. Citizen).
• Married couples between the ages of 35 and 50. Couples must be married a minimum of 10 years, unless the couple is infertile. Exceptions can be made to this requirement, please contact us for more information. One previous divorce is acceptable. There can be no more than 15 years age difference between husband and wife. 
• Single, heterosexual women, who live alone and are between the ages of 35 and 50.
• Families may have no more than 4 children (adopted and biological) under the age of 18 in their home.
• Household income must be equal to or higher than 125% of the U.S. poverty level for your household size (including the child(ren) you are adopting). (i.e. $27,562 for a family of 4; equivalent to $4675 per household member). See www.uscis.gov (form I-864P) for more information.
• Neither applicant may have a criminal history of drug abuse, child abuse, violence or domestic abuse.
• The anticipated time frame is 18-24 months from dossier submission to bringing your child home.
Program I requires that prospective adoptive parents be Christian. Program II does NOT have this requirement.
