12-8-08 | CCAA To Raise Fees January 1, 2009
CCAA has raised the orphanage donation from $3000 U.S. to 35,000 RMB, which equals approximately $5300 U.S. dollars. This increase goes into effect on January 1, 2009. In all of the years that CCAA has been doing international adoptions, they have never raised this orphanage donation. Recently, the reduced buying power of that $3000 donation has made it difficult to care for the orphans. Although this increase is difficult for families during this tough economic time, we ask that you consider the children in the welfare institutes where your children have lived and where others will live out their youths. This money will help those children, as well as provide more equality between the donations made by Chinese domestic adoption and international adoption. With this equality, orphanages will continue to submit dossiers of children for international adoption and families will be able to continue to adopt children who have been well cared for during their time in the orphanages. It is the goal of each and every one of us to look out for the best interests of the children. We hope that although this is difficult information to hear in a time with such economic turmoil, you will be able to understand the intent and reasoning behind it. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
